Tucked amongst the bronze horse sculptures and western store facades that have been identified with Scottsdale for years, a hotbed of contemporary arts activity has been consistently carving out a niche in both the Arizona and the national art scene. The Marshall Way Contemporary Arts District, located between Indian School Road and Fifth Avenue, is an area filled with luxurious offerings. The district’s galleries specialize in contemporary art by both regional and national artists. You will also find new ideas in contemporary craft, Southwestern art and Asian antiquities. The Marshall Way Contemporary Arts District offers a wonderful package of charming streetscapes, shopping, dining and the arts, all in one place. Galleries are open every Thursday evening from 7 - 9 p.m. for strolling, and on the first Thursday night of each month, they collectively offer exhibition openings and artist receptions, refreshments, and live music up and down the street.
